Every parent that sends their child to an early childhood centre wants to ensure that their child is supported in the best environment. Therefore, I have chosen to research the corporatisation of early childhood education (ECE) because I feel this is an issue which directly impacts on the way early childhood centres are run. I would like to learn about the conflicting views about the corporatisation of ECE, I want to find out about this topic:
- Why is corporatisation a political issue?
- What are the arguments for and against corporatisation?
- Does corporatisation compromise quality?

Hi Holly, It would be interesting to see where your research leads to in regards to your questions. I also wonder about that photo - How can people be so money focused instead of providing quality for the children?
ReplyDeleteHello! Great start! I'm hooked! Can't wait to see what you find out.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of Charter schools and ECE corporatised settings to be linked. However, it seems that, according to the picture, money is the way they are linked. Can't wait to read more into this!
ReplyDeleteHi Holly,
ReplyDeleteThat is a very provocative picture to demonstrate one of the questions asked about privatisation of education. Can quality and profits exist together in harmony or will there be a conflict? Where does social responsibility fit? Should governments pay money to what are essentially private businesses? I look forward to your investigation. Remember I put some readings on EIT online.
